Nebbi District Local Government is nearly set to launch the magnificent 700 multi-million shillings worth of infrastructure dubbed “Office of the President – Nebbi” that will house all the security agencies in a move to ease accessibility and save the district from unbearable monthly rental costs estimated at 1.9 million shillings.
Busoga News Network understands that some of the offices to be hosted by the multi-billion building include the Office of the Resident District Commissioner, Deputy RDC, District internal security, and Gombolola security officers, all under a single roof.
The construction of the infrastructure is funded by the Office of the President under the stewardship of Minister for Presidency Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, executed in only four months by Hotel Zawaidi Construction Company with aid from the supervising engineers from the Ministry of Works and Transport.
By the time of publishing this story, the construction of pavements, fencing, and planting of ornamental trees on the compounds of the infrastructure was the only bit of work lagging.
The Nebbi District Resident District Commissioner, Mr Robert Abak who spoke to us in an exclusive interview, revealed that the Office of the President processed for them a land title and commended the contractor who executed the project with niche and perfection.
“The construction works only took 4 months instead of 8 months. I am grateful to the district leadership and council that offered land for this project,” Abak told this publication in an interview.
The infrastructure has its internal works fixed and the external fittings for water connections and electricity installation, among others.
During a guided tour of the multi-million facility, Mr James Oyullu, the LC5 Chairperson of Zombo District, applauded the magnanimous interests and abilities of the Nebbi District leaders.
“I feel that this should also come to Zombo, we lack the Office of the President, but with time, I believe we shall get one,” Oyullu remarked in optimism.
The Office of the President, Nebbi District, becomes the most outstanding infrastructure that will house the offices of district security agencies under a single roof to ease coordination and expenses on rent for office spaces.
