A Case of a Kenyan maid in Saudi Arabia.
The physical and biological equipment of a woman fit her for certain creative functions in life, peculiar to the sex of which she was called. Her capacity for motherhood carries with it certain emotional, mental, and nervous conformations of spirit, she is meant to care for and to bring up children with supreme art and heart, meeting the infant’s wants and carefully nurturing the dedicated instincts in a secure climate of a loving home, amidst the raging passions and deadly violence prevailing in the modern world, the basic vital and basic task offered to any human being.
No housemaid, not even a nursery School can however equipped and psychologically oriented to supply a mother’s place. A child deprived of a mother’s love suffers permanent psychological injuries.
The modern woman has been busied with jobs out of home, abandoning nature’s destiny, diverting the wonderful talent innate in the feminine personality in unnatural and disastrous setbacks (the maid syndrome), and completely abandoning herself designated natural formation for artificial causes, which has perpetuated incurable suffering and traumas since these maids/helpers (kadamas) as commonly known have never willingly taken it as a career by choice, but a drawback only where the wave fixes them just to earn a living and thus lacking the passion and patient in what they pursue.
Therefore, modern society has committed a serious crime by entirely substituting the helpers (kadamas) for parental roles in their quest for career pursuits, social ambitions, sexual pleasures etc, wasting time in busy idleness. They are thus responsible for the disappearance of the familial group setting, where the child was kept in contact with adults. Children brought up by fellow children cannot develop as those brought up by intelligent adults.
According to psychology, many psychological ailments in young people, dubious behaviors etc are due to memories and gaps of babyhood for which their mothers bear the blame. It’s even worse where affection between mother and father is weak or even lacking; children feel less sense of duty to both parents.
At this point, “the rat reigns the kingdom of cats”. How could the children scream for the maid who was leaving, completely ignoring both parents? Why would they bond so strongly with a stranger against their parents? What went wrong?? How did the maid occupy the mother’s position? All this is in shier backwardness under the disguise of “civilisation”. As we observe the viral video of a Kenyan maid at the airport leaving Saudi Arabia, who left the whole family in disarray, a few lessons ought to be learnt; one, all workers must be dedicated and do work diligently, for the children would not cry for a monster. Two, all bosses must respect and fairly treat the workers, for you reap what you have sown. Three, parents no matter your busy schedule should still assume the driver’s seat, to deliver to your sense of duty-parenthood, short of which, the house helpers will always become masters in our homes.
In conclusion, we must see beyond the fascinating externals of “civilisation” and not get blind to the painful tragedies and the moral crisis of the modern age. A society can suffer no worse disaster than the loss of the power to distinguish good from bad. No society that has suffered this loss can ever attain welfare or well-being.
To also understand that besides every flower blooming in civilisation garden grows a thorn that wounds the soul. Western civilization has moved mankind further and faster in the recent past but it must be regrettably acknowledged anyway, that it is a necessary evil. Despite the leisure and ease, this culture provides in society, the new pages of history turned, human happiness has just deteriorated and social ills sprung, moral and spiritual life sunk, to the nadir. Thus while science is climbing, thought is declining, divisions proliferate, democracy bleeding civil disobedience, crime, and corruption. It has banned calm of mind, spirit, and faith, plunging humanity into deeper dark and mark, ruin and waste, sadness and suffering beyond the reach of remedy, drugging humanity into total anarchy and a world of subversives once again.
