A few days ago, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni confirmed that her soul-mate, the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni, tested positive while in their country home, Rwakitura spending their festive season.
“On Christmas day, after a family lunch, Maama Janet started feeling kukarakaatwa (sandy feeling) in the throat. We did a Rapid Corona test, which was negative. However, we sent another sample to Mbarara for a PCR test, and it came back positive,” President Museveni said in a previous statement on his official X page.
Today, The President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, updated the Nation on the First Lady’s Health through a statement released on his Official X Account
“Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu. Greetings, again. Congratulations on finishing 2023 and entering 2024.
Good news: Maama Janet has defeated the coronavirus. This morning, her samples were sent to Mbarara, and they were all negative. Thank you for your prayers. Two days ago, I checked again for Corona, and the results were negative, like they were on December 26, 2023. The doctors are now saying that corona spreads more through touching yourself on the soft parts of the body (the eyes, the nose, the mouth, etc.) with infected hands than even through breathing. Is it true? Hon. Jane Aceng, please clarify to all. Maama is now out of self-isolation. She fought bravely. Praise be to the Lord. To watch are the door handles, tables, armchairs that need to be sanitized and documents and, of course, the unnecessary handshaking.” President Museveni said this in a statement on his Official X page.
