As Uganda prepares to celebrate President Yoweri Museveni’s achievements on 5th July 2024 at Kololo Independence grounds, it’s a fitting tribute to a leader who has dedicated his life to transforming the country. Since assuming office in 1986, President Museveni has been instrumental in shaping Uganda’s destiny, fostering economic growth, and promoting regional stability.
Under his visionary leadership, Uganda has made significant strides in various sectors, including:
– Infrastructure development: President Museveni has invested heavily in building roads, bridges, and energy infrastructure, connecting communities and driving economic progress.
– Education and healthcare: His government has prioritized access to education and healthcare, resulting in improved literacy rates and better health outcomes for Ugandans.
– Economic growth: President Museveni’s policies have attracted foreign investment, boosting Uganda’s economy and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs and innovators.
– Regional peace and security: He has played a key role in promoting peace and stability in the region, resolving conflicts, and fostering cooperation among neighboring countries.
According to the NRM Director of Mobilization Hon Rose Mary Sseninde, celebrating President Museveni’s achievements in July is an honor of his unwavering commitment to Uganda’s progress and development. She adds that legacy serves as a testament to visionary leadership and a reminder that dedicated leaders can shape a brighter future for generations to come.
Over 200,000 people from across the different regions are expected to turn up for the event including government officials, cultural leaders, religious leaders, and foreign dignitaries, among others while those who may not be able to make it will watch from the different media platforms as the event will be streamed live.
Gates will be open to the general public as early as 6 am with artists, and comedians all expected to perform for the attendees.
Mr. Joseph Kato Sserusiba the media coordinator of the organizing committee said that for the so many good things the President has done for Uganda, such an event to appreciate his contribution to the development of Uganda had not been organized and thus this was the right time for Ugandans to say thank you to the President.
According to the organizing committee, all Ugandans who wish to gift the president with several items are free to do so but must inform the committee earlier for purposes of organization and security.
