There was renewed motivation toward enabling the Uganda Diaspora community to actively participate in shaping the path of their motherland.
The call was made at the gala dinner, which marked the apex of the Canada NRM Chapter Symposium in Ottawa.
The two-day symposium organised by the Canada NRM Chapter, led by the Chairperson, Mr. Fred Kinene, brought together over 300 individuals, including high-profile government officials, NRM supporters & well-wishers, potential investors, and experts from across the world.
Structured around promoting sustainable tourism, agro-processing and industrialisation, experts reflected on the NRM party’s achievements, emphasizing the need to foster effective engagement between the NRM party and its Diaspora supporters.
Kinene said attendees found the session highly informative. “I am so pleased many people are telling me this symposium is a resounding success, exceeding their expectations, and the best they’ve ever attended.”
He adds that it has been a fulfilling experience to work with the organizing committee led by, 3rd Deputy Premier, Rt. Hon. Rukia Isanga Nakadama, on delivering a promise of mobilizing, deepening and widening engagement of Ugandans in Canada, in national building.
The Chapter Chairperson has also appreciated His Excellency President Museveni, for his support toward the symposium. He has rallied Ugandans in Canada to continue supporting the mass party and vote for President Museveni in 2026.
In the same breath, Kinene said the chapter & organizing committee is pleased that this year’s symposium attracted the largest number of attendees.
“People have made connections, new business contacts, new personal emotional journeys, and received passport, immigration and citizenship, tax administration services, financial tools, mortgage, real estate, land acquisition, among others.”
The Canada NRM Chapter Symposium has set a precedent for the next one, demonstrating the power of unity, massive love and support of President Museveni & NRM party in Canada.
Kinene has thanked the presenters and participants, including Hon. Milly Babalanda, Hon. Balaam Barugahara, Ambassador Abbey Walusimbi, Hon. Sam Engola, State House, Immigration, Lands & Tourism Ministry officials, among others.
