The Minister for Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, who doubles as the Director of SDA Busoga Women Field, has appealed to SDA church members and the general public to always get time to praise, regardless of their busy schedules.

The Minister, gave remarks during a radio talk show on Maranatha Radio Jinja, commenting on the performance of the Women’s thrust exercise that has run for months, where women church leaders spearhead the spread of the gospel in their respective communities.

Minister Babalanda, informed the SDA church members that the Women Thrust exercise yielded good results, where over 601 people were baptized and joined the SDA Church Fellowship.

“I am pleased to inform you that this exercise has given us good results. We are here to give you a report about the gospel message we have been doing under the initiative of the women’s thrust exercise. Women have been spreading the word of the gospel in their respective communities, and I am happy to inform you that we have registered success by baptizing 601 individuals.” She said

She also informed the members that out of the 18 church districts in Busoga, 16 conducted the exercise successfully, and the two districts failed due to some challenges.

“Nsube, Namutumba, Bugiri, Kamuli, Buyanja, Kaliro, Nsomba, Nawaikoke, Jinja East, Jinja Central, Iganga, Ivunamba, Luuka, Bugadde, Kasambira, Kiige were successful, while Nawanende and East Lake didn’t participate. We should always put God at the forefront. I was informed that women leaders in the churches of Nawanende and East Lake, who were meant to lead this program in these districts, were so much in politics.” She added

The minister expressed gratitude to whoever participated in the women’s thrust exercise and to all the supervisors.

“I want to thank everyone for their effort in making sure this exercise registers success and all the supervisors.” She said

The minister also informed members that Women’s Day of Emphasis will be held in Sigulu Island, Namayingo District, on 14th 06 2025 and produced the book for those who were baptised during the exercise.

Minister Babalanda also urged members of the church and the general public to put emphasis on development, where she appealed to them to plant coffee and cocoa as the high-income-generating cash crops with a ready market.

Kyabambe Mary, the vice chairperson, expressed great thanks to Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, the Director of Busoga Field, for always standing with the women in all the activities and Maranatha Radio.

She also appealed to church members to always present new ideas to have a clear evaluation at the end of the exercise.

Suzan Kulaba, the secretary of the SDA Busoga Women’s Field and a church elder, expressed gratitude to Minister Babalanda for her tireless effort to empower women under the SDA church and all women in the country.

“Thank you, Hon. Minister, for all kinds of support to give to women, more this program of women’s thrust, we are so grateful for the support,” She said

“I also want to thank all church elders and Radio Maranatha for giving us free air space to spread the word of God,” She added

She gave the general performance report.
