GEORGE MUBIRU: Bobi’s curse continues as Museveni consolidates support, Muhoozi keeps ascending

Before an eagle-eyed hunter sees a monkey, the monkey has already seen him and counted his footsteps a hundred times from a distance. Bobi Wine who had a dream of taking over the country’s most prestigious seat sees it fading day by day.

A man who once vowed never to challenge Uganda’s longest serving president in 2026 elections but later ate his own vomit and declared his candidature for presidency in the forth coming elections seems contented to settle for the second spot and enjoy the lucrative benefits of the leading opposition.

His inexperience, selfishness, tribalism, parachoalism and chauvinist kind of ideology is not only outdated but also barbaric hence dwindling his support in his former stronghold of Buganda. Ugandans are focused on consolidating national unity which has been built and championed by the NRM government.

The inexperienced Bobi Wine who thought challenging for presidency was as easy as singing has kept on making mistake after mistake.

It’s on record that in September 2023, he uttered reckless statements that exhibited tribalism. He tried to gang up Buganda against the whole Uganda and it’s a public secret that you can’t be president based on only one region.Uganda moved on from this type of politics where someone thinks that one tribe should be superior than the rest.

As it’s said, “The monkey and the baboon may claim oneness, but a monkey is a monkey and a baboon is a baboon. So, never sell a monkey as a baboon, for they are quite different.”

After Bobi Wine falling out with Mengo last year, of recent he uttered other tribal sentiments where he castigated and abused Baganda who support president Museveni and NRM as being foolish and very bad.

What a shame!!!This is very unfortunate. Uganda moved on from this type of politics where someone thinks that one tribe should be superior than the rest.

President Museveni has always cautioned ugandans against deception and misrepresentation by such enemies of national unity.

The political tactician has always emphasized the importance of honesty and authenticity during his tenure of leadership. Bobi wine and his group are a representation of people who are greedy for power.

His tribalistic ideology is not of pretence but a testament that he is willing to detach Buganda from the rest of Uganda, something that gives him no chance to lead this beautiful country.

A person who is bold and fearless is described as someone who can stand under the bitter kola tree and tell it that it’s bitter.

This rare character  signifies their unwavering courage and conviction to speak truth to the people without hesitation or regard for consequences. The lead role of president Museveni does not surprise anyone.

He is a decorated soldier, teacher, PanAfricanist, ruthless and he knows that in a political competition , it is ‘eat or be eaten’. That’s how he stands. He is proactive.

Unfortunately, people with this level of boldness and fearlessness are lacking in today’s opposition.

Their absence is deeply felt, as they are the ones who would challenge and table alternative policies that can help the common man. Instead, they are in business.
